Wood and metal framing, NMD90 (Loomex), BX/AC90 cable, cable stripping, box connections, and proper installation methods.
Sessions 2 & 3 – Receptacles, GFCI & AFCI
15A–50A receptacles, wire sizing, GFCI/AFCI installation, line/load wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and common residential applications.
Sessions 4 & 5 – Lighting, Switches & Fixtures
Single-pole, three-way and four-way switching, lighting circuits, smart controls, pot lights, vanity lights, track lights, ceiling fans, and wet-location installations.
Session 6 – Heating, Smoke/CO Systems & Assessment
Smoke and CO detector wiring, interconnected alarms, thermostats, baseboard heaters, practical installation exercises, and course assessment.

Hands-On + Theory
The Level 2 Electrical Training Course builds on Level 1 with more advanced residential wiring, panel work, kitchen and bathroom circuits, material selection, conduit practice, and practical troubleshooting. Students work through realistic projects while improving their ability to plan, wire, inspect, and correct residential electrical installations.
Each session is 4.5 hours, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Session 1 – System Review & Residential Electrical Design
Review of NMD90, BX/AC90, RW90, TECK90 and ACWU cables, material selection, residential circuit planning, breaker and conductor sizing, and key CEC requirements.
Session 2 – Panel & Kitchen Wiring
Residential panel wiring, circuit organization, dedicated circuits, breaker placement, and kitchen rough-in using team-based practical exercises.
Session 3 – Kitchen Wiring: Rough-In & Finish
Complete kitchen wiring, device installation, GFCI/AFCI requirements, inspection procedures, testing, and correction of common wiring errors.
Session 4 – Bathroom Renovation: Part 1
Vanity lighting, bathroom fan wiring, ventilation rough-in, GFCI receptacles, and practical bathroom circuit installation.
Session 5 – Bathroom Renovation: Part 2
Finishing electrical work, bidet power connections, device installation, testing, and code-compliance checks.
Session 6 – Surface Wiring, Conduit & Final Evaluation
BX surface-mounted wiring in dry locations, PVC conduit installation for wet locations, practical troubleshooting, final inspection, and CEC review.

Permits & Load Calculations
Apply CEC 2024 requirements, perform residential load calculations, and understand permit and inspection considerations for EV chargers, heat pumps, and service upgrades.
EV Chargers & Energy Management Systems
Install EV chargers, work with Energy Management Systems (EMS), and understand load management and dynamic load-sharing applications.
Heat Pumps & Hot Tubs
Learn wiring methods, disconnect requirements, bonding, equipment connections, and safety testing for residential heat pumps and hot tubs.
