Two Practical Electrical Training Levels. One Clear Path.
This July, Imperial Skills Academy is offering Practical Electrical Level 1 and Level 2 training in Burnaby. These programs are designed for students who want more than theory.
Practical Electrical Level 1
Foundation training for students starting their electrical journey.
Level 1 is designed for beginners and students who want to learn the core skills used in residential electrical work.
You will learn cable types, wiring methods, receptacles, GFCI/AFCI protection, lighting circuits, switches, smoke alarms, thermostats, baseboard heaters, and Canadian Electrical Code basics.
Practical Electrical Level 2
Residential wiring and panel training for students ready to build advanced practical skills.
Level 2 focuses on residential wiring systems, panel work, kitchen and bathroom circuits, breaker and conductor sizing, GFCI/AFCI applications, conduit practice, inspection checks, and common wiring error correction.

- Wood-frame and metal-frame building structures
- NMD90/Loomex cable identification and installation
- BX/AC90 cable structure and termination
- Receptacles from 15A to 50A
- GFCI and AFCI installation with line/load wiring
- Lighting circuits, switches, fans, and fixtures
- Smoke alarms, thermostats, and baseboard heaters
- Voltage, continuity, and polarity testing
Practical Electrical Level 2
Residential wiring and panel training for students who want to upgrade their practical electrical skills.

Certificate of Participation
Students who successfully complete the training receive a certificate of participation from Imperial Skills Academy.
The certificate confirms completion of the practical in-class electrical training hours. It is useful for showing participation in the program and your commitment to hands-on trades training.
